Asus has refreshed its ZenBook line of notebooks with the latest 11th Gen Intel processors, also known under their codename: Tiger Lake. The Taiwanese notebook manufacturer updated the ZenBook 13 and 14 back in July when they were powered by the previous generation of Intel processors. They were subsequently launched in Malaysia in August.
Both the Asus ZenBook 13 and 14 are now available in Malaysia with prices starting from RM3,999 for the Intel Core i5 variant and RM4,699 for the Intel Core i7 variant.
Below are the official Malaysian pricing for each model. The updated lineup retains the same price tag as the previous generation.
Asus ZenBook 13 (UX325)
Intel Core i5-1135, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD, Intel Iris Xe Graphics – RM3,999
Intel Core i7-1165, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD, Intel Iris Xe Graphics – RM4,699
Asus ZenBook 14 (UX425)
Intel Core i5-1135, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD, Intel Iris Xe Graphics – RM3,999
Intel Core i7-1165, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD, Intel Iris Xe Graphics – RM4,699
Both models are available via Asus’ official stores on Lazada and Shopee as well as through their authorised e-tailers.
Asus’ ZenBook lineup are claimed to be the world’s thinnest 13″ and 14″ laptops with a full set of I/O ports. As their names suggest, the ZenBook 13 boasts a 13.3” LED-backlit Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixel resolution) display while the ZenBook 14 has a slightly larger 14” LED-backlit Full HD display.
The latest ZenBook range comes in a compact all-metal chassis that’s just 13.9 mm thin. The ZenBook 13 (UX325) weighs just 1.07kg while the ZenBook 14 (UX425) weighs 1.13kg.
Despite their slim and lightweight build, they boast US Military Grade MIL-STD 810G certification that include tests that grade their shock and vibration durability.
On the inside, they have been updated and can now be configured up to an 11th Gen Intel Core i7-1165 processor, up to 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB SSD. The new processors are touted as the “best processors for thin-and-light” laptops and will feature integrated Iris Xe graphics that promise to deliver a significant upgrade in terms of graphical performance of its previous generation Iris Plus solution.
This means the laptops would be able to run modern AAA games like like Borderlands 3, Far Cry New Dawn and Hitman 2 at a playable at 1080p resolution. Beyond games, Intel also declared the improved graphical performance from the 11th Gen processors should also trickle down to other tasks like photo and video editing.
Apart from that, the new ZenBooks come with an edge-to-edge ergonomic keyboard design and ErgoLift hinge that tilts the keyboard to the optimum typing angle when the lid is opened. The new laptops also come with Asus’ latest NumberPad 2.0, a dual-function touchpad with an integrated LED-illuminated full-size numeric keypad.
As thin as the new ZenBooks are, users still get a full range of Input/Output (I/O) ports including two USB Type-C (one Thunderbolt 3 and the other Thunderbolt 4), a single USB 3.2 Type-A port, HDMI and a microSD card reader. However, despite managing to fit all these ports, Asus has omitted the 3.5mm audio jack even though there is plenty of space on the sides.
Asus said the ZenBook 13 and 14 will be sold in two colours: Lilac mist and Pine grey. For more information go to Asus’ official website.
