COVID-19: New cases drop to 822 today, Sabah records less than 300 new cases

Malaysia has recorded 822 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 42,872. There are 2 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 302.

The Ministry of Health has reported 769 new recoveries and a total of 31,073 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 72.5% while the mortality rate is now 0.7%.

There are currently 11,497 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 86 are in ICU while 30 require respiratory support.

Out of the 822 new cases today, 7 are imported while 815 are transmitted locally. Sabah still recorded the most number of new cases but it’s lower today with 259 cases. This is followed by Negeri Sembilan with 225 cases and Selangor with 178 cases.
