MagSafe Duo Charger charges both your iPhone and Apple Watch for RM589

The iPhone 12 series is now available for pre-order in Malaysia and if you’re looking for a compact wireless charger, here’s an accessory to consider. The MagSafe Duo Charger has appeared on the Apple Online store and it’s priced at RM589 in Malaysia.

Like the name suggests, this is a dual wireless charger which lets you charge up to two Apple devices the same time. The left portion is a wireless charging pad with MagSafe while the right is a pop-up dock for your Apple Watch. When not in use, it can folded which is great for travelling.

Not only you can use it to charge your iPhone 12, it also works with other devices with wireless charging support. This includes older iPhone models as well as the AirPods Pro and other AirPods with a wireless charging case. On the right side, it can be used to charge all Apple Watch models including the first generation and Series 1.

Take note that a 20W USB-C Power Adapter is recommended but it is sold separately for RM99. A 1-metre USB-C to lightning cable is included. At the time of writing, the MagSafe Duo Charger is still listed as coming soon in Malaysia.

If you prefer to charge your devices separately, the MagSafe Charger is priced at RM179 and it comes with an attached 1-metre USB-C cable. Take note that MagSafe charges the latest iPhone 12 series up to 15W (iPhone 12 mini at 12W), while other Qi wireless compatible devices are charged slower with a maximum power of 7.5W.

Meanwhile, the Apple Watch Magnetic Charging Dock costs RM349 while the standard Apple Watch Magnetic Charger costs RM149.

Leather sleeve with MagSafe

Apart from the Duo charger, Apple has also listed its leather sleeve that supports the MagSafe charger. It comes with a cut out hole in the middle to display the time while the rear gets a bulge for the camera bump. On the inside there’s a pocket which you can use to insert an ID or credit card.

Also included is a leather strap which you can attach to the sleeve. Apple has warned that the use of MagSafe accessories may leave an imprint on the back, which is something to be expected with leather.

Regardless of which iPhone 12 model you’re having, all of them are priced at RM549. It comes in 4 colours – Baltic Blue, Pink Citrus, Saddle Brown and Product(Red). At the moment, the leather sleeves are still not available in Malaysia.
