Besides the MateBook 14 laptop and FreeBuds Studio headphones, the Huawei Y7a is also coming to Malaysia. This is a new mid-range smartphone that promises offer a big screen, battery and storage at an affordable price.

The Huawei Y7a is officially priced at RM799 and it comes with 4GB RAM + 128GB of storage. The phone is offered in 3 colours – Midnight Black, Crush Green and Blush Gold. If you’re interested, the phone will go on sale from the 30th of October. You can buy it online and pick it up at the store.

The Huawei Y7a comes with a 6.67″ Full HD+ (2400×1080) IPS display that comes with a tiny centre-aligned punch-hole. Similar to its other budget devices, it runs on a Kirin 710A processor. If the 128GB storage isn’t enough, you can expand storage with a microSD card up to 512GB.

In the camera department, the device houses a quad-camera setup featuring a 48MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle shooter, a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, the front comes with an 8MP camera.

Powering the device is a large 5,000mAh battery and it supports 22.5W SuperCharge fast charging via USB-C. According to Huawei, you can get 2 hours of video playback with a quite 10-minute charge on the cable. The device comes with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and it also retains a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Out of the box, it runs on EMUI 10.1 that’s based on Android 10. However, like most Huawei smartphones, it doesn’t come with Google apps and services pre-installed. It does come with Huawei Mobile Service and you’ll have to discover apps via the Huawei AppGallery.
