Malaysia has recorded 732 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 22,957. There are 6 new deaths reported and the death toll is now 199.
The Ministry of Health has reported 580 new recoveries and a total of 14,931 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 65.04% while the mortality rate is now 0.87%.
There are currently 7,827 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 102 are in ICU while 31 require respiratory support.
Out of the 732 new cases today, 8 are imported while 724 are transmitted locally. Sabah recorded the most cases at 535, followed by Selangor with 116 cases, Kuala Lumpur with 26 cases, Penang with 12 cases and Negeri Sembilan with 9 cases.
According to the Ministry, there are 8 new clusters identified today. This consists of Basung, Inai and Tempayan clusters in Sabah, Long, Cahaya and Bah Kota in Selangor, Melati in Kuala Lumpur and Bina Labuan in Labuan.
