The OnePlus 8T has just been launched, and the big surprise is “Ultra” was not referring to a new range-topping model. Instead, only the OnePlus 8T was launched, along with a number of upgrades over the OnePlus 8—including a 120Hz display. Pricing for global markets has already been revealed at launch, and now, OnePlus has announced that the new flagship is coming to Malaysia on the 22nd of October 2020.

Unfortunately, we have yet to receive pricing details for the Malaysian release just yet. However, all will be revealed on the 22nd of October.

To recap on some of the key specs, the OnePlus 8T features a 6.55″ Fluid AMOLED Display pushing a resolution of 2400×1080 pixels (402 ppi) and a refresh rate of 120Hz. OnePlus says that they’ve chosen to go with a flat display that is “flexible” to get a thinner, lighter screen—that also offers wider viewing angles.

Under the hood, a Snapdragon 865 powers the device, with the global variant getting up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS3.1 storage; according to reputable retailer Mobile2Go, two variants will be available: 8GB+128GB, and 12GB+256GB. Meanwhile, we’re also expecting to see two colours available: Aquamarine Green and Lunar Silver.

The OnePlus 8T also features the fastest charging speeds ever seen on a OnePlus phone via Warp Charge 65. The best part? You’re getting the charger in the box, which also supports 45W power-delivery charging.

As for photography, a quad-camera setup is made up of a 48MP main shooter with a Sony IMX586 sensor, a 16MP ultra-wide angle lens with a 123-degree field of view, a 5MP macro lens, and a 2MP monochrome lens. Up front, a 16MP selfie camera sits in a single hole-punch cutout on the display.

Based on European pricing, we do expect pricing for the OnePlus 8T to start at under RM3,000—although this is an educated guess for now. For the full details, scroll down to the related reading section for the global announcement for the OnePlus 8T.

If you’re keen, the OnePlus 8T Malaysia launch will be happening on the 22nd of October 2020, at 12pm MYT. Full pricing and availability details will be revealed then, probably via livestream on the company’s Facebook page and official site.

Editor’s note: This article has been amended to include information on OnePlus 8T variants.
