Before CMCO is reintroduced in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya at midnight, Malaysian Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin is holding a press conference this evening. It’s happening today (13th October) at 5.00pm.

Unlike his previous address to the nation, the press conference will be streamed live through his Facebook page. Muhyiddin is expected to go live from his home as he is currently under self-quarantine.

It isn’t clear what’s the agenda for the press conference but it could be to provide more updates for the Conditional Movement Control Order in the Klang Valley. When it was announced by Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob yesterday, it was mentioned that the National Security Council will provide further details for the two-week restriction period.

Another possibility is that the Prime Minister could address the current political situation following Anwar Ibrahim’s audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. The Palace official has issued a statement confirming that Anwar didn’t provide a full list to support his claim that he has the majority backing from MPs to form a new government.
