Huawei MateBook 14 powered by AMD Ryzen 4000 is coming soon to Malaysia

Huawei Malaysia has started teasing its new MateBook 14 laptop that’s powered by the latest AMD Ryzen 4000 series processor. The new MateBook 14 2020 was announced last month and it will go on sale in Malaysia soon.

The product page is already live on Huawei Malaysia’s online store and there are two model options. The MateBook 14 2020 can be configured with either the Ryzen 5 4600H or Ryzen 7 4800H processor, and both are equipped with 16GB DDR4 RAM and 512GB of PCI-e SSD storage. To keep things cool, the laptop features a dual-fan Huawei Shark fin system that claims to provide better thermal management without excessive noise.

The Huawei MateBook 14 2020 gets a 14″ (2160×1440 pixels) 2K FullView IPS display that comes with a 3:2 aspect ratio. According to the spec-sheet, the Ryzen 7 model has support for a touch-screen display.

In terms of features, it has a power button with an integrated fingerprint sensor and there’s also a pop-up 720p HD camera that’s hidden on the function row of the keyboard. The trackpad has an integrated Huawei Share tag which allows you to enable multi-screen collaboration with a compatible Huawei smartphone.

The MateBook 14 gets a single USB-C port for charging and data transfer, 2x USB 3.2 Gen-1 Type-A ports, a HDMI port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The laptop gets a 56Wh battery that charges via a provided 65W USB-C charger. According to Huawei, you can get 2.5 hours of usage from a quick 15 minute charge. The laptop is shipped with Microsoft Windows 10 Home Edition (64-bit).

So far there’s no pricing for the new MateBook 14 at the moment. The current Huawei MateBook 13 R5 with a Ryzen 5 3500U processor is currently priced at RM3,499. We reckon that the starting price for the new 2020 model will be under RM4,000 similar to the Honor MagicBook Pro.
