AirAsia.com offers travel, eCommerce and FinTech services in one super app

AirAsia’s digital arm – AirAsia.com, has just introduced its new identity and a Super App which now offers more than just flight tickets. AirAsia.com is calling it the Asean super app which provides a simpler, faster and a more convenient way to access travel, eCommerce and FinTech services.

Essentially, this is an updated AirAsia app which houses 15 different products and services under one roof. Some of the notable services include food delivery, eCommerce store, fresh goods, insurance, healthcare and leisure activities.

Although you get multiple product options within the app, it appears that only Flights, Snap and Hotels are actually integrated. The other options appear to be load from AirAsia’s website and it still requires you to sign in separately. Even the BigPay button is just a shortcut to launch the BigPay app.

According to AirAsia Group CEO Tony Fernandes, “AirAsia is always about the people. We democratised flying 19 years ago and enabled millions to travel, to explore. We pride ourselves in being a disruptive leader, connecting the Asean region, providing value, simplicity and inclusivity, for everyone.  Now with airasia.com, we are enabling everyone to fly, to stay, to shop, to eat, all at the convenience of one super app. We have not wasted the crisis, in fact we’ve been using the lockdown period to finetune our platform, unify the user experience and simplify our payment to a one-click checkout. We have accelerated our digital business and expanded airasia.com’s product offering from travel to everyday life. Just like how we built AirAsia as a brand, airasia.com will emerge as the Asean super app, your best travel and lifestyle companion. I can’t wait for everyone to experience airasia.com and all that it offers when the world is ready to travel again.”

AirAsia.com CEO Karen Chan said “airasia.com is not only about connecting people to destinations, more than that it’s about connecting people to people, creating communities among like-minded travellers, sharing best-eats tips and fostering social-based  commerce. Our super app now offers a seamless user experience enabling customers to pay with BIG Points across our diverse range of products through a one-click checkout.”

To celebrate the launch, AirAsia.com is having a super sale where you can get up to 90% off for various services. This includes 90% off for Snap (flight + hotel), 90% off on AirAsia shop, 50% off on AirAsia Food (formerly known as OURFOOD) and AirAsia Fresh (formerly known as OURSHOP).

They are also offering 50% off for all domestic flights within Malaysia and 10% off for flights of any other airlines to over 3,000 destinations worldwide. The app also offers up to 30% off for activities, up to 20% off for hotels and 20% off for unlimited deals.

The Super Sale is happening on AirAsia.com between 12 to 18th October 2020. According to teaser, you can also pay for the deals with Big Points.

To find out more, you can visit AirAsia.com. Alternatively, you can download the app which is available on Apple App store, Google Play Store and Huawei AppGallery.
