Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department in charge of Religious Affairs Datuk Dr Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri has confirmed that he has been tested positive for COVID-19. This was confirmed via his social update on both Facebook and Twitter.
Dr. Zulkifli has urged everyone that have attended the same events as him between 24th September to 4th October 2020 to get tested at their nearest health clinic as soon as possible.
The Ministry of Health has also confirmed that an individual that have attended a meeting at the Prime Minister Department on Saturday, the 3rd of October was tested positive. The statement didn’t disclose the name of the individual and all identified close contacts were given a Home Surveillance Order (HSO) which requires them to be quarantined for 14-days.
On the 3rd of October, the Prime Minister had chaired a special National Security Council meeting at Putrajaya. NST reported that Dr. Zulkifli Mohamad is believed to have attended the meeting and some have spotted him in the photo as seen below:
Other ministers present include Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, Dr Radzi Jidin, Dr Adham Baba and Health DG Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
Dr. Zulkifli Mohamad also has a recent travel history to Sabah, where he visited Kota Kinabalu and Tuaran. On 24th September, he tweeted his visit to a Kelapa Bakar and Lokan stall at Jalan Salut, Tuaran.
Today, Malaysia has recorded a new daily record with 432 new COVID-19 cases. There are 241 new cases in Kedah, 130 new cases in Sabah and 34 new cases in Selangor.
