OnePlus fans are already set for a treat soon, with the company confirming the upcoming launch of the OnePlus 8T. Not many hard details have been revealed just yet, but I’m expecting to see the usual myriad of teasers and leaks in the time between 14 October and now—and a significant detail has just been released. Instead of a “Pro” version, the range-topping model of this year’s flagship series will probably be called the OnePlus 8T Ultra.
An Ultra version is heavily referenced in a new promo video from the company, entitled: OnePlus 8T – Ultra Stops at Nothing. You can’t actually get a good sight of the phone in the video, although you’ll catch a glimpse of the OnePlus 8T Ultra at around the 19-second mark.
Have a look:
And, as mentioned, there might not be a “Pro” version for the 8T generation, according to a leak. It makes a degree of sense, with OnePlus already releasing the OnePlus Nord earlier this year for the mid-range market—although the Ultra moniker appears to be a more of a superficial change, a nod to the recent trend of flagship phone names.
Specs are still a mystery, officially. From what we know so far, we might see a Snapdragon 865 Plus in the series, along with a crazy fast-charging speed of 65W. Robert Downing Jr. has starred in an ad where he tells viewers that they need a phone that “moves faster”, which is could be a reference to a high refresh rate, a faster chip, or even 5G connectivity.
Additionally we’re also expecting to see the same 6.55″ display from the OnePlus 8, and a 120Hz refresh rate on the OnePlus 8T series. A new camera bump on the rear looks similar to certain Galaxy phones of recent times, and the quad camera setup could be made up of a 48MP + 16MP + 5MP + 2MP configuration. And of course, the series will feature 5G connectivity.
In any case, the OnePlus 8T series will be launched in India on the 14th of October 2020, the company has confirmed. As always, keep SoyaCincau.com bookmarked on your browser for the complete coverage, and let us know what you think in the comments section below.
