During the IFA 2020 event, Huawei had introduced its new Watch GT 2 Pro which is an upgraded version of the Watch GT 2. If you’re looking for something more exclusive, it appears that Huawei is releasing a premium Porsche Design edition very soon.

An unboxing video of the Watch GT 2 Porsche Design was recently uploaded by @TechgarageNews way ahead of its official announcement. Serial leakster @evleaks has managed to capture high-resolution screenshots of the video before it was taken down.

At first glance, it looks like a normal Watch GT 2 Pro that comes with metal band. It still features a fixed bezel marker that comes with a “PORSCHE DESIGN” label at the top. Similar to its co-branded smartphones, the watch also gets the usual black and white Porsche Design interface as well as a customised start up screen.

So far there’s no details of its pricing and availability at the moment. It is likely to be released alongside the upcoming Huawei Mate 40 series and we also expect a Porsche Edition Mate 40 in the works. In terms of internal hardware, we reckon that it should be similar to the standard Watch GT 2 Pro.

To recap, the Watch GT 2 Pro features a 1.39″ AMOLED display that pushes 454×454 pixels resolution and runs on the same Kirin A1 chip as the normal GT 2. On a single charge, it can last up to 14 days and it supports Qi wireless charging.

The new watch uses titanium for the case while the display uses sapphire glass. In terms of fitness, it uses the TruSeen 4.0+ sensor which can monitor your heart rate and it also tracks your sleep wtih its TruSleep 2.0 feature. The Watch GT 2 Pro also get 5 ATM water-resistance, which means that you can submerge the watch up to 50 metres deep. In Europe, the Watch GT 2 Pro is priced at EUR 329 (about RM1,596) for the Sport version while the Classic version is going for EUR 349 (about RM1,694).
