Oppo Watch is coming soon to Malaysia

Oppo is about to bring the Oppo Watch to Malaysia very soon. The smartwatch looks like an Apple Watch but it runs on Google’s Wear OS for global markets.

Oppo Malaysia has yet to provide any specific dates for the Oppo Watch local release but we reckon that it should be available within the coming weeks. The Oppo Watch was first announced in China in March this year and it was released in India last month. The Chinese version runs on its own proprietary ColorOS Watch that’s based on Android.

The Oppo Watch comes in 41mm and 46mm sizes, and the larger model is also available with an LTE version that uses an eSIM. The 46mm version uses a larger 1.91″ dual-curved AMOLED display while the 41mm variant uses a 1.6″ rigid AMOLED display. In terms of design, it looks identical to the Apple Watch and it features two physical buttons on the right without a digital dial.

According to Oppo, the Watch can last up to 21 days on a single charge in Power saving mode or up to 36 hours in Smart mode. The product site states that you can expect 16 hours of usage under typical use. If you need to recharge, it supports Watch VOOC flash charging that is rated to push 46% charge in just 15 minutes.

Powering the Watch is a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 and Ambiq Apollo 3 Wireless SoC. The watch features 24-hour heart rate monitoring, sleep monitoring and it also gets 5ATM water resistance which allows it to submerged up to 50 metres deep. However, this 5ATM rating is only applicable to the 46mm model as the smaller 41mm variant only has a 3ATM rating.

In India, it is priced from INR14,990 (about RM847) for the 41mm model and INR 19,990 (about RM1,124) for the 46mm version. That’s about the same price as the Apple Watch Series 3 in Malaysia. Stay tuned to us for pricing and availability details which will be announced soon.
