Malaysia records 6 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 9,391. Fortunately, there are no new deaths reported and the death toll remains at 128.
The Ministry of Health has reported 21 new recoveries and a total of 9,113 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is currently 97.04% while the mortality rate is 1.36%.
At the moment, there are 150 active cases remaining which are receiving treatment. 5 patients are in ICU while 3 require respiratory support.
Out of the 6 cases today, 4 are imported while 2 are transmitted locally. The imported cases consist of 2 Malaysians, each returning from Angola and Pakistan, and 2 foreigners arriving from India and Bangladesh respectively.
In terms of local cases, there’s one new case from the Telaga cluster in Kedah and 1 case in Sabah that was detected through severe acute respiratory infection (SARI) screening.
The Telaga cluster now has a total of 9 positive cases. According to the Ministry of Health, a total of 3,458 individuals have been screened and 705 people are still awaiting results.
