Huawei Malaysia has a 9.7″ tablet with stereo speakers that’s going for RM499

Huawei Malaysia has introduced the MediaPad T10 and it’s a new budget tablet that comes with a large 9.7″ display. The device will be available next month and you can get a RM300 discount during its first day sale.

The Huawei MediaPad T10 is officially priced at RM799 and it’s only available in a single Deep Sea Blue option. However, you can get the tablet for only RM499 during its one day sale on the 9th of September.

The MediaPad T10 comes with a 9.7″ IPS display that pushes a HD+ resolution of 1280×800 pixels. Under the hood, it runs on a Kirin 710A processor, which is a 14nm chip that’s produced by Shanghai-based Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corp (SMIC) instead of TSMC.

The device comes with 2GB RAM and 32GB of storage which is still expandable via microSD up to 512GB extra. Based on the spec-sheet, you can pop-in a nano-SIM for 4G LTE connectivity and it also supports 5GHz 802.11ac WiFi. The tablet is also listed with GPS and it also supports Bluetooth 5.1.

Despite being a budget tablet, it still gets a pair of speakers that claims to offer immersive stereo sound. It can do Dual-window mode with Huawei’s App Multiplier and there’s also a Kids Corner which limits access to age-appropriate only content.

For taking pictures, it has an 5MP camera at the rear that can record 1080p videos, while the front gets a modest 2MP selfie shooter. Powering the tablet is a 5,100mAh battery which appears to be charged via USB-C. Also retained is a 3.5mm headphone jack. Overall, it weighs 450g and it’s 7.85mm thin.

However, take note that the MatePad T10 runs on Huawei Mobile Services, and that means you’ll have to use the AppGallery to discover apps. You won’t find Google apps and services including Google Play Store pre-installed on the tablet.
