Malaysia has reported 6 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 9,291. There are no new deaths reported and the death toll remains at 125.
The Ministry of Health has reported 7 new recoveries and a total of 8,978 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is currently 96.63% while the mortality rate is at 1.35%.
There are currently 188 active cases remaining which are isolated and receiving treatment. The number of patients in ICU has increased to 9 and 6 of them require respiratory support.
Out of the 6 new cases today, one is an imported case involving a foreigner arriving from Singapore while the other 5 cases are transmitted locally in Kedah.
All 5 new local cases reported today are Malaysians and 3 are from the Tawar cluster. The other two unrelated cases were detected via severe acute respiratory infection (SARI) screening and symptomatic screening.
As of today, there are 73 positive cases in the Tawar cluster which include 6 in ICU. A total of 4,051 individuals under the cluster have been screened so far. The Ministry of Health has also announced the end of two more clusters. This include the Bukit Tiram cluster in Johor and the Mambong cluster in Sarawak.
