Malaysia has reported 5 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of cases to 9,240. There are no new deaths reported for 20 straight days and the death toll remains at 125.
The Ministry of Health has reported 7 new recoveries and a total of 8,932 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is currently at 96.70% while the mortality rate is at 1.35%.
There are currently 183 active cases remaining which are isolated and receiving treatment. 7 patients are in ICU with 4 requiring respiratory support.
All 5 new cases today are imported. 4 cases are from a newly identified Alam cluster in Bintulu, Sarawak involving a ship crew that arrived from Japan. The new cluster consists of 2 foreigners and 2 Malaysians. There’s also 1 imported case in Selangor involving a foreigner from Bangladesh.
