HP’s new creator-focused Envy laptops have arrived in Malaysia, priced from RM3,799

HP Inc Malaysia has refreshed its HP Envy portfolio by introducing three new models the HP Envy 13, HP Envy 15 and HP Envy x360 13. HP said the laptops are aimed towards creators who want powerful lightweight PCs that enable them to get their ideas out into the world.

Pricing and availability

Both the HP Envy 13 and Envy 15 are available now at the following price:

HP Envy 13 – from RM4,399

HP Envy 15 – from RM5,799

Meanwhile, the HP Envy x360 13 will be available from September onwards and has a starting price of RM3,799.

The new Envy series is available at HP’s Online Store as well as on Lazada and Shopee.

HP Envy 13

Featuring a light all-metal chassis, the new HP Envy 13 measures only 16.9mm thin and weighs from 1.306kg. It offers a 13” display with thin-bezels that offers more space to create ideas. There is even the option for a 4K resolution display.

HP said the Envy 13 has advanced privacy features that can be enabled with the touch of a button. This includes optional built-in buttons that turn off your webcam and microphone to ensure no one is seeing and listening to you. There is also optional HP Sure View Privacy Screen that prevents content from being viewed from the side.

It comes powered by a 10th generation Intel processor with up to a Core i7-1065G7 with 16GB of DDR4 RAM and up to a 1TB PCIe NVMe  SSD. It has a 3-cell, 51Wh battery that supports HP Fast Charge to get it from 0 to 50% charge within 30 minutes.

The Envy 13’s audio is provided by HP Dual speakers, HP Audio Boost and custom tuning by experts at Bang & Olufsen. There’s also Windows Ink that allows for users to express their ideas and drawings with a digital-pen. With it, they can jot notes in Microsoft Office or supported creative apps.

Users also get access to a full array of different ports that include one Thunderbolt 3 port, one USB-C and two USB-A ports. You also get a microSD card reader.

HP Envy 15

Sporting an aluminium chassis and diamond-cut design, the Envy 15 is also the first model in the line to feature a layer of glass on top of the touchpad. It is larger than the Envy 13 with a 18.5mm thickness and weighs from 2.148kg. In addition, it has a 15.6” display with narrow bezels that can be configured up to a 4K UHD AMOLED touch display.

Powering the new Envy 15 is a 10th generation Intel processor that can be configured up to a Core i7-10750H, up to 32GB DDR4 RAM and up to a 2TB PCIe NVMe SSD. For graphics, you can spec it out with Nvidia GeForce GTX1660Ti with Max-Q design.

According to HP, the Envy 15 is the first device in its class to offer gaming-class thermals with a vapour chamber and two 12-volt fans. The company claims that its custom vapour chamber solution maximises airflow and dissipates heat to optimise the CPU and GPU’s performance.

In terms of battery performance, the Envy 15 boasts a large 6-cell, 83Wh battery that it claims offers up to 16.5 hours of battery life. It supports HP Fast Charge too so you can get it back up to 50% from 0% in just 45 minutes.

Exclusive to the new Envy 15 is HP QuickDrop software, a new way to seamlessly transfer documents, notes, websites, address and videos to PCs, iPhones, Android phones or tablets.

With more room to space, the Envy 15 comes with two Thunderbolt 3 ports, two USB-C ports and two USB-A ports. It also comes with a microSD card reader and HDMI 2.0 port.

HP Envy x360 13

If you are in the market for a truly versatile PC, there is the HP x360 13, a showcase of elegant and refined craftsmanship. Measuring at 16.51mm and weighing just 1.32kg, the Envy x360 13 is very portable PC

It features a 13.3” FullHD IPS display with multitouch capabilities. In addition, the 360 hinge adapts for different needs, allowing creators to use in a laptop position, tent mode, reverse position or flip the keyboard over to use it as a tablet.

Underneath the Envy x360 13 is an AMD Ryzen series processor. According to HP, it can be configured with up to an AMD Ryzen 7 4700U paired with 16GB of memory and AMD Radeon graphics. You can fit up to a 1TBNVMe SSD on the laptop.

Like the Envy 13, the Envy x360 13 has a 3-cell, 51Wh battery that supports HP Fast Charge. In terms of ports, the Envy x360 13 has one USB-C port, one USB-A port, one mini DisplayPort and a headphone/ microphone combo port.

Common features

Across the lineup, the new Envy laptops share some common characteristics. This includes an all-in-one keyboard that includes accessible buttons for power, camera shutter, mute mic, a fingerprint reader and HP Command Centre. 

Each Envy laptop also comes with free pre-loaded Microsoft Office Home and Student 2019 worth RM529. In addition, Envy owners will enjoy HP’s 2-year Accidental Damage Protection offering so they can have peace of mind over their device.
