Apart from the Poco F2 Pro, Xiaomi has also announced a price reduction for its Redmi Note 9 series. The device features a large display, a quad-camera setup and a huge 5,020mAh battery.
The Redmi Note 9 4GB RAM + 128GB storage model which was launched for RM749 is now going for RM699 starting today. You can order it directly from Xiaomi’s official store on Lazada and all 3 colours are available. Meanwhile, the price for the base 3GB RAM + 64GB storage model remains unchanged at RM649 but it is currently out of stock on the same online store.
This device is the most affordable model in the Redmi Note 9 line up and it features a 6.53″ Full HD+ display. Instead of a Snapdragon 720G processor that’s found on the Redmi Note 9S, it runs on a MediaTek Helio G85 processor. According to Xiaomi, the Helio G85 processor boasts 22% better CPU and 32% better GPU performance than the Redmi Note 8 that ran on a Snapdragon 665 processor.
The device gets a quad-camera setup that consists of a 48MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP macro shooter and a 2MP depth sensor. For selfies, the Redmi Note 9 has a 13MP front camera that’s housed in a punch-hole.
The device still has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, a 3.5mm headphone jack and an IR blaster. If you need more storage, it has a triple-card slot which allows you to use 2 SIM cards and a microSD card at the same time.
Powering the device is a 5,020mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging via USB-C. Included in a box is a higher-rated 22.5W fast-charging brick.
