Malaysia has reported just 2 new cases today which brings the total number of COVID-19 infections to 9,001. There are no new deaths reported and the death toll now stands at 125.
There are 4 new recoveries and a total of 8,668 cases have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is currently 96.30% while the mortality rate is 1.39%.
There are currently 208 active cases remaining which are currently receiving treatment. There’s one case in ICU and there are no patients that require respiratory support.
The two cases reported today are transmitted locally. One case is reported in Kedah which involves a regular customer at a restaurant from the Sivagangga cluster. There’s another case reported in Labuan which involves a student that was detected during a random screening at the airport.
There are currently no red zones in the country as of 12pm today. Kuching has 39 cases, followed by Kubang Pasu at 16 cases and Johor Bahru with 12 cases.
