Malaysia has reported 14 new cases today, which brings the total number of COVID-19 cases to 8,999. There are no new deaths reported and the death toll remains at 125.
The Ministry of Health has reported 17 new recoveries today, and a total of 8,664 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is currently 96.28% while the mortality rate is at 1.39%.
At the moment, there are 210 total active cases remaining which are isolated and receiving treatment. 2 patients are in ICU and one of them require respiratory support.
Out of the 14 cases today, there’s one imported and 13 locally transmitted infections. The sole imported case is a foreigner arriving from the Philippines.
From the 13 local infections, 11 cases are reported in Kedah from the Sivagangga cluster and all of them are Malaysians. Meanwhile, there are 2 cases in Sabah, both Malaysians, that were detected at the sea border screening at Labuan. Kuching, Sarawak is now redesignated as a yellow zone as the number of active cases has dropped to 39.
