The Ministry of Finance has announced the latest fuel prices in Malaysia for the coming week. There are no changes for both RON95 and RON97 petrol but diesel is up slightly by 1 sen per litre.
Below are the fuel prices for the period between 1st to 7th August 2020:
RON95 – RM1.68/litre (+0 sen)
RON97 – RM1.98/litre (+0 sen)
Diesel – RM1.83/litre (+1 sen)
Diesel (Euro 5) – RM1.93/litre (-1 sen)
The price of fuel in Malaysia is calculated based on the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM). Although restrictions on interstate travel have been lifted during the recovery movement control order, the Sarawak state government has introduced new restrictions starting 1st August 2020 to contain the COVID-19 pandemic as the number of new cases in the state had risen in the past week.
Those traveling between Zone One (Kuching, Samarahan, Serian) and Zone Two (from Sri Aman to Limbang) are required to obtain a police permit before traveling. Exemption would be given to those on official duty, essential service workers, those paying respects to deceased family members or visiting members who are ill, and people seeking medical treatment.
