YouTube cooking sensation Sugu Pavithra removes all videos from channel

Ipoh-based YouTuber “Sugu Pavithra” consisting of husband M. Sugu and wife S. Pavithra have removed all videos from their channel. The duo rose to fame for their cooking videos during the movement control order and were acknowledged for their contributions by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin. At the time of writing, the channel is still accessible with 786,000 subscribers, but their cooking videos are no longer available.

The sudden blackout comes after Sugu was charged for attacking his wife twice on Tuesday. It was reported that Pavithra was hit with a mobile phone and a sickle which caused injuries to her lips, left cheek and right arm. The husband pleaded not guilty to both charges.

After the court proceedings, Pavithra told reporters that she had forgiven her husband and hopes to put the incident behind them. In a joint press conference, both said that they want to lead a normal life and don’t want any publicity.

They added that they don’t deserve the Ipoh City Icon title which was bestowed by the Ipoh Mayor and they don’t want any recognition after this. She told reporters that they want to focus on their YouTube channel and live a simple life.
