The number of new COVID-19 cases in Malaysia has dropped to 9 today which brings the total number of infections to 8,840. There are no new deaths reported and the death toll remains at 123.
According to the Ministry of Health, there are 8 new recoveries and a total of 8,574 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is currently 96.99% while the mortality rate is 1.39%.
There are currently 143 active cases remaining which are still receiving treatment. 5 are in ICU while 2 require respiratory support.
Out of the 9 new cases, 3 are imported consisting of a Malaysian returning from Singapore and two foreigners returning from India and the Philippines respectively.
In terms of local infections, there are 4 cases involving Malaysians in Sarawak and 1 foreigner each in Kelantan and Sabah.
