Malaysia has recorded a jump of new COVID-19 cases with 21 new infections reported today. This brings the total number of cases to 8,800. Fortunately, there are no new deaths reported today and the death toll remains at 123.
The Ministry of Health has reported 2 new recoveries and a total of 8,555 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is currently 97.22% and the mortality rate is now 1.40%.
Malaysia currently has 122 active cases remaining that are currently isolated and still receiving treatment. 3 are in ICU and there’s one that require respiratory support.
Out of the 21 cases reported today, 15 are local and 6 are imported. The imported cases are individuals returning from the Philippines, Denmark, Russia and India. Among the local cases, there’s 1 case in Negeri Sembilan which is a Malaysian and 14 cases in Johor that consists of 12 Malaysians and 2 foreigners. This is the highest number of new daily cases since 20th June 2020.
