Asus ROG Phone III: Here’s what we know so far

The Asus ROG Phone III is one of the most anticipated gaming smartphones of the year. Numerous leaks have hinted at the ROG Phone III’s design but thanks to documents obtained by DealINTech, we know that the phone recently passed through Taiwan’s NCC certification process and it also reveals more unannounced specs.

The documents clearly show the ROG Phone III listed as ASUS_1003D and it details that it will come bundled with an A299-200150U-US 30W fast charge adapter. That is indeed a welcome piece of good news considering that manufacturers like Apple and Samsung might be looking to ship their future phones without chargers.

As for the battery, the report states that the ROG Phone III has a 6,000mAh capacity and it will have 512GB of internal storage.

TEENA previously listed the ROG Phone III will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ processor coupled with 12GB of RAM and it will run on Android 10.

It is speculated that the latest ROG Phone will use Asus’ ROG UI that includes an X Mode. This is basically a special mode for gaming where the chipset can be potentially overclocked to allow for better performance during intense gaming sessions.

The ROG Phone III is said to be equipped with a 6.59” Full HD+ AMOLED screen with an integrated in-display fingerprint scanner. There is no mention of the screen’s refresh rate but last year’s handset offered a 120Hz refresh rate. Some speculate that the ROG Phone III’s display will get an upgrade this year to a 144Hz refresh rate, similar to the Nubia Red Magic 5G.

Based on the leaked photos, the ROG Phone III will have a triple-camera array on the back consisting of a 64MP main camera and a 13MP secondary camera, though we are not clear whether it sports an ultra-wide or telephoto lens.

Can’t wait to see the ROG Phone III? Here’s a leaked video of the new ROG handset gives us the clearest look yet at Asus’ new gaming smartphone.
