Malaysia has recorded 6 new cases today which brings the total number of COVID-19 infections in the country to 8,674. There are no new deaths recorded and the death toll remains unchanged at 121 for 23 days.
There are 5 new recoveries and a total of 8,481 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is currently 97.77% and the mortality rate is 1.39%.
At the moment, there are 72 active cases remaining which are currently isolated and still receiving treatment. 2 patients are in ICU and both require respiratory support.
Out of the 6 cases today, 4 are imported while 2 are transmitted locally. The imported cases are 2 Malaysians returning from Russia and 1 Malaysian each from Singapore and Indonesia. For local cases, there’s one Malaysian reported in Kuala Lumpur and another Malaysian reported in Selangor. There are no cases involving foreigners today.
