Malaysia has recorded two new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 8,639. There are no new deaths reported for 16 days and the death toll remains at 121.
The Ministry of Health has reported 20 new recoveries today and a total of 8,354 patients have recovered and discharged so far. The recovery rate is now 96.7% while the mortality rate is 1.4%.
There are currently 164 active cases remaining which are isolated and still receiving treatment. 4 patients are in ICU and there’s one case that require respiratory support.
Both new cases reported today are Malaysians. One is an imported case from Egypt while the other is a local case in Sabah. The Ministry of Health has updated that there are no new positive cases recorded from the current active clusters.
As of 12pm today, there are no red zones in the country. Rembau has the highest number of active cases at 28, followed by 9 cases in Lembah Pantai and 6 cases in Sepang. The states of Pulau Pinang, Perlis, Kedah, Kelantan, Terengganu and Pahang are fully green. The figures exclude the number of cases that are imported from other countries, states and districts.
