Alan Walker has a sick custom-made Asus ROG Zephyrus G14

The definition of who is a gamer is constantly changing. Now it has expanded to include not just eSports athletes and enthusiasts, but a diverse audience of creators. This is the reason that brought Asus’ gaming brand Republic of Gamers (ROG) and Norwegian DJ and music producer Alan Walker together.

Both ROG and Walker said in a press release, that they are determined to create more gaming content, tech and other experiences to bring gaming to a wider audience. Walker, who started as a YouTube content creator before rising to stardom in the music industry is passionate about merging music, tech and games together.

An avid gamer himself, Walker’s credentials include producing a number of tracks in collaboration with games studios worldwide. This includes PUBG Corporation where he created two songs On My Way and Live Fast featuring A$AP Rocky for their PUBG Mobile game (iOS/Android). Walker also produced the single Ghost featuring Au/Ra, for the Death Stranding: Timefall album for Hideo Kojima’s 2019 video game, Death Stranding.

To kick off ROG’s collaboration with Walker, ROG produced a custom edition of the recently launched ROG Zephyrus G14 for Walker. Touted by Asus as the world’s most powerful 14” gaming laptop, the special Zephyrus G14 will be outfitted with the latest AMD Ryzen 9 CPU and Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 GPU.

Asus said the Zephyrus G14’s featherweight of 1.7kg, combined with its ultra-slim chassis that is under 20mm thin, is perfectly suited for Walker who often plays games, makes music, and travels frequently for work.

The Zephyrus G14 actually has two different 14” IPS panels. There is the faster Full HD (1,920 x 1,080 pixel resolution) display that goes up to a 120Hz refresh rate or the higher resolution WQHD (2,560 x 1,440 pixel resolution) display with a 60Hz refresh rate. There is no word which version Asus picked for Walker, but we hazard a guess it would have to be the Full HD 120Hz variant to serve his gaming needs.

As a music producer, sound quality is essential to Walker so it is coincidence that the Zephyrus G14 features a quad speaker design with two tweeters that fire high-frequency sounds directly forward and two woofers that offer deep bass amplified by the ErgoLift design. Each speaker is powered by Dolby Atmos technology that offers immersive virtual surround sound.

That’s not to mention the device’s one-of-a-kind AniMe Matrix LED display gives creatives like Walker a new platform to show off their animations, text effects, and audio visualizers that make playing music a uniquely visual experience.

Walker recently shared on Facebook and Instagram his experience unboxing the customised  Zephyrus G14. Needless to say, he was quite excited to game and produce music on his new laptop.

ROG’s collaboration with Walker doesn’t stop with the custom-made Zephyrus G14. Starting August 2020, a series of YouTube shorts, music previews and other content that give audiences a behind-the-scenes look at future content that will launch later in the year.
