Lenovo has announced new versions of the ThinkPad E14 and ThinkPad E15—and this time they’re powered by AMD’s Ryzen 7 4700U processors. This means that users now have options between AMD and Intel-powered configurations for both models in Malaysia.

Sound interesting? Here’s everything you need to know.

Price and availability

Both the Lenovo ThinkPad E14 and the Lenovo ThinkPad E15 are now available in Malaysia. Recommended Retail Pricing (RRP) is as follows:

Lenovo ThinkPad E14 – RM3,499 (starting price)
Lenovo ThinkPad E15 – RM3,449 (starting price)

Lenovo Malaysia has informed us that both models aren’t available on Lenovo’s e-commerce platform or retail for now. Instead, interested parties can contact SNS Network (M) Sdn Bhd – PJ Office for a quotation. Here are the details:

  1. Address – C-11-2, Block C, 3 Two Square, Jalan 19/1, 46300 Petaling Jaya.

Specs

The headlining spec here is the AMD Ryzen 4000 series processor under the hood, with up to AMD Ryzen 7 4700U processors with integrated graphics. The smaller ThinkPad E14 features options for a 14″ IPS or TN display, while you have up to a 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD with an optional second 1TB second SSD.

For the larger ThinkPad E15, you’re looking at a 15.6″ Full HD display, and you have the same options: TN or IPS. Storage options are identical to the ThinkPad E14, with a total of 1.5TB supported via SSD. Similarly, both models offer up to 24GB of DDR4-3200 RAM.

Battery life is marginally better on the ThinkPad E14 compared to the ThinkPad E15. On the former, you get an estimated 13 hours of usage from a single charge, while the larger E15 has an estimated battery life of 12.7 hours. Both ThinkPad models support 65W fast-charging via USB-C.

Internals aside, Lenovo says that the ThinkPad E14 and E15 are targeted towards SMB “decision-makers”, which is reflected in a few features. On the security front, there is a touch fingerprint reader as well as an optional IR camera—Lenovo says this uses Glance by Mirametrix attention-tracking technology, so it should be ideal for video calls.

Speaking of video calls, there are also Microsoft Teams and Skype for Business hotkeys directly integrated into your keyboard, while WiFi 6 support is also available for the best results. For ports, you have 1 USB 2.0, 1 USB 3.1 Gen 1, 1 Usb -C 3.1 Gen 1 (for charging and display), HDMI, ethernet, and a security keyhole. Lastly, there is also the option for an anti-glare display so your eyes won’t be too strained when spending hours on your laptop.
