Honor Malaysia is doing its bit to help underprivileged students that are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. As announced recently by the Ministry of Higher Education, universities will resume their lectures purely online until the end of 2020.
To assist students who lack access to devices required for e-learning, Honor is providing its latest MagicBook laptops to eligible UKM students from B40 communities. This would allow them to attend online lectures, access online materials and to work on assignments. The students can use the laptops until their campus reopens, no matter how long the period may be.
According to UKM, they are grateful to Honor Malaysia for loaning the laptops to its students in need. Students that wish to request for the MagicBook laptops may contact UKM’s representative for further details.
The MagicBook is Honor Malaysia’s first laptop and it’s officially priced at RM2,299. It features a 14″ Full HD screen and runs on an AMD Ryzen 5 3500U processor with Radeon Vega 8 Graphics. The device comes with 8GB RAM and 512GB PCIe SSD.
The laptop comes with a generous amount of ports including 2x USB-A (USB 3.0 + USB 2.0) ports, HDMI port, 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB-C port. It has quad-speakers enhanced with Dolby Atmos and a power button that has a built-in fingerprint sensor.
The 57.6Wh battery is rated to last up to 10 hours and it supports 65W fast charging via USB-C. If you’re thinking of getting one, you can check out our review.
