COVID-19: New cases jump to 41 today, 6 Malaysians among 38 local cases

Malaysia has recorded 41 new COVID-19 cases today which brings the total number of infections to 8,494. Fortunately, there are no new deaths recorded today and the death toll remains at 121.

The Ministry of Health has recorded 54 new recoveries today, and a total of 7,400 patients have recovered so far. The recovery rate is currently 87.12% while the mortality rate is 1.42%.

COVID-19 malaysia status

At the moment, there are 973 active cases remaining which are currently isolated and receiving treatment. 4 patients are in ICU and there are no cases that require respiratory support.

Out of the 41 new cases today, 3 are imported while 38 are local transmissions. From the local cases, 6 are Malaysians while the remaining 38 are foreigners.

Out of the active clusters, there are 15 new cases from Pedas, and 14 new cases from the Bukit Jalil Immigration Detention Depot cluster. Meanwhile, there are 2 new cases from the cleaning company cluster and 1 new case from an old folks home in Kuala Selangor.
