Computex 2020 has joined the growing list of tech trade shows that have been cancelled this year as a result of Covid-19. The next Computex event will be held from 1 June to 5 June 2021.
The organisers, Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and Taipei Computer Association (TCA) cited concerns over global travel restrictions that would prevent overseas visitors and exhibitors from attending the show as the primary reason in a blog post on its website. Computex, one of the world’s largest IT trade shows, is held annually in the city of Taipei. The 2019 edition of the show hosted 1,685 exhibitors from 30 countries and attracted 42,495 visitors from 171 countries. In March, the organisers said it was rescheduling the show from 2 – 6 June to 28 – 30 September, running for just three days instead of five.
