On the eve of the recovery phase of the movement control order (RMCO), the Ministry of Health continues to record 7 new cases today. This brings the total number of COVID-19 infections in the country to 8,336.
There are 281 new recoveries today, which is a new record high and a total of 6,975 patients have recovered so far. In addition, there are no new deaths reported and the death toll remains at 117. The recovery rate is now 83.67% while the mortality rate is 1.40%.
There are currently 1,244 active cases remaining which are still receiving treatment. 6 are in ICU while 1 require respiratory support.
Out of the 7 cases reported today, 6 are imported and there’s only 1 local transmitted COVID-19 case which is a foreigner. This means there are no new local cases involving Malaysians today. The 6 imported cases consisted of 2 individuals returning from Singapore, 2 from Saudi Arabia, 1 from Indonesia and 1 from Italy.
