Fuel prices are all up across the board for the coming week with a 5 sen/litre increase for petrol and 10 sen/litre increase for Diesel. This marks the third price hike during the movement control order.

Malaysia petrol prices 30 May 2020

Below are the fuel prices for the period between 30th May to 5th June 2020:

RON95 – RM1.43/litre (+5 sen)

RON97 – RM1.73/litre (+5 sen)

Diesel – RM1.61/litre (+10 sen)

Diesel (Euro 5) – RM1.71/litre (+10 sen)

Compared to the lowest petrol prices in Malaysia 3 weeks ago, both RON95 and RON97 petrol have increased by 18 sen from RM1.25/litre and RM1.55/litre respectively.

At the moment, all interstate travel is still not permitted unless it is an emergency. Meanwhile, home visits in conjunction with the festive seasons including Hari Raya, Kaamatan and Gawai is allowed for the first day only.

Since Wednesday, the government has lifted the “4 people per vehicle” restriction, and private vehicles are now allowed to carry more passengers up to its permitted limit. This means a 7-seater MPV is now allowed to carry up to 7 occupants including the driver. However, the rule is only applicable to family members or those staying in the same house.
