After recording a surge of 103 cases yesterday, the number of new COVID-19 cases drop to 30 today. This brings the total number of infections to 7,762 in Malaysia.
Fortunately, there are no new deaths recorded today, and the death toll remains at 115 for 8 straight days. There are 95 new recoveries today, and a total of 6,330 patients have recovered and discharged. At the moment, the recovery rate is 81.55% while the mortality rate is 1.48%.
At the moment, there are 1,317 active cases remaining which are still receiving treatment. There are 9 in ICU while 2 patients require respiratory support.
Out of the 30 new cases reported today, 3 are imported while 27 are transmitted locally. The 3 imported cases originated from Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.
Among the local cases, 10 are Malaysians while 17 are foreigners. There are currently 3 active clusters with Kuala Lumpur construction site 2 recording 12 new cases, and 2 new cases each at Kg. Sungai Lui and Pedas.
As of 12pm 29th May, there are 5 red zones which are located at Hulu Langat, Bukit Jalil, Pudu, Kuala Lumpur capital and Rembau. There are 61 yellow zones and 135 green zones.
