The Realme X3 SuperZoom is coming to Malaysia next week and it features a periscope telephoto camera that pushes up to 60x zoom. Ahead of the launch, Realme Europe has provided some camera samples for its new flagship-class smartphone.

The samples were taken at 1x, 5x and 60x zoom. It is speculated that the X3 SuperZoom will come with an 8MP telephoto camera that offers 5x optical zoom and it maxes out at 60x. As expected for digital zoom, it loses quite a lot of detail and you can see some over-sharpening on the final image.

Apart from the camera sample, Realme has also confirmed that the device will be running on a Snapdragon 855+ processor and it will come with a display that offers a high 120Hz refresh rate.

In case you missed it, the Malaysian launch is happening on the 28th of May while the global debut in Europe is taking place earlier on the 26th of May.

According to serial leakster Roland Quandt, the X3 SuperZoom will be priced at EUR 499 (about RM2,374). When it comes to Malaysia, it will be significantly cheaper as European prices are always much more expensive.

Roland has also shared that the device will come with a 64MP main camera that uses Samsung’s GW1 sensor and also an 8MP camera for ultra-wide-angle shots. For selfies, the device is said to be utilising a Sony IMX616 32MP sensor at the front and it’s also accompanied by a secondary 8MP camera selfie camera for depth effects.

Although it lacks 5G, it is said to be capable of supporting WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.0 and LTE Advanced. If it’s priced under RM2,000, would the Realme X3 SuperZoom be a better buy than the Poco F2 despite having last year’s processor? Let us know in the comments below.
