Malaysians will have to pay more for fuel as the prices of petrol are up by 7 sen for the coming week. This is the second price increase during the movement control order.

Malaysia Petrol Price

Below are the fuel prices for the period between 23rd to 29th May 2020.

RON95 – RM1.38/litre (+7 sen)

RON97 – RM1.68/litre (+7 sen)

Diesel – RM1.51/litre (+6 sen)

Diesel (Euro 5) – RM1.61/litre (+6 sen)

Two weeks ago, the price of RON95 was RM1.25/litre while RON97 was priced at RM1.55/litre and it was unchanged for 5 weeks. The price for RON97 at that time was the lowest since 2005 and this is due to an oil price war and lower demand during the pandemic.

At the moment, interstate travel is still not permitted during the CMCO. However, interdistrict travel is allowed. Travel between Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Putrajaya is considered interdistrict and it is permitted by authorities.
