Realme Malaysia is launching a new phone with 60x SuperZoom on 28 May

Following the launch of the Realme 6 Pro in Malaysia, Realme is launching a new “flagship device” but it isn’t the X50 Pro 5G. Their next phone is the Realme X3 SuperZoom which Realme claims to be able to help you capture things that are not visible to the human eye.

The Realme X3 SuperZoom Malaysian launch is taking place next Thursday, 28th May at 11am. You can watch the event live on Realme’s official Facebook page. The full device will actually be revealed earlier as Realme is having a European launch on the 26th of May.

At the moment, Realme has confirmed that the X3 SuperZoom will feature a periscope telephoto lens that can do up to 60x SuperZoom. Obviously, the 60x is digital zoom but it could rely on AI to enhance its imaging capability.

So far the teasers have been focusing on stargazers and this could be the device that might excel in capturing stars and meteor showers. You can check out some sample images below:

In terms of specs, it is speculated to come with a 6.6″ Full HD+ LCD display that boasts a high 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it still runs on an older but still capable Snapdragon 855+ processor that could be mated with 12GB of LPDDR4X Ram and 256GB of UFS 3.0 storage.

Like most Realme devices, the X3 SuperZoom is said to feature a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 8MP periscope telephoto camera that offers 5x optical zoom and up to 60x digital zoom. The last camera is a 2MP shooter for macro.

It is also speculated that the device would come with a 4,200mAh battery that will support 30W fast charging. Based on the specs, we expect it to be priced the same or higher than the Realme X2 Pro. The X2 Pro which also runs on a Snapdragon 855+ processor was launched for RM2,399 and it also comes with 12GB RAM and 256GB of storage.
