Honor Router 3 supports WiFi 6 and it costs less than RM200

As more WiFi 6 devices are being introduced to the market this year, Honor has announced the Router 3, its first wireless router to adopt the latest WiFi 6 standards with MU-MIMO. What’s impressive is the price tag which is more affordable than most entry-level dual-band router in the market.

In terms of design, it looks quite similar to the Huawei WiFi WS5200 router. It has four foldable antennas with 5dBi gain and it is powered by a Gigahome dual-core 1.2GHz CPU with 128MB of RAM and 128MB flash memory. The router can support a theoretical maximum throughput of 2976Mbps with a combined 574Mbps on 2.4GHz and 2402Mbps on 5GHz.

The router also features Dynamic Narrow Bandwidth technology which allows it to penetrate walls and floors better. If you’re using the latest Honor and Huawei flagships with “WiFi 6+” support, you can get speeds of up to 2.4Gbps with its wider 160MHz bandwidth.

The Honor Router 3 also supports OFDMA multi-user technology which allows it to support 128 concurrent devices while ensuring stability and low latency. There’s also a Game Turbo mode which allows your mobile device to use both 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi connection for online games to reduce latency.

You can manage the router via a mobile app and it offers parental controls as well as bandwidth management. The router also comes with 4 ethernet ports with 10/100/1000Mbps support.

In China, the Honor Router 3 is officially priced at CNY 219 (about RM134) which is very affordable for a WiFi 6 router. It will be available internationally including Malaysia starting from July 2020.
