Deal: Redmi Note 9 Pro going for less than RM1,000

The complete Redmi Note 9 series has arrived in Malaysia. If you’re looking for the Redmi Note 9 Pro with a lower price tag, there’s now a more affordable variant available from the official Xiaomi Global store on Shopee.

For the Redmi Note 9 Pro, Xiaomi Malaysia is officially offering the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant for RM1,099. If you don’t need that much storage, the Global Store is offering the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage version with free Redmi Airdots wireless earbuds for only RM999. At the moment, the Redmi Note 9 Pro is only offered in Grey during the pre-order period which runs from 12th to 18th May.

In case you’re wondering, items from the Xiaomi Global Store are shipped from China, so it will take a longer time for delivery. In terms of the support, the products are covered by a local warranty at Xiaomi Malaysia service centres.

To recap, the Redmi Note 9 Pro features a 6.67″ Full HD+ display and it runs on a Snapdragon 720G processor. The device is essentially an upgraded Redmi Note 9S that comes with a higher resolution 64MP main camera. It still retains an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 5MP macro shooter and 2MP depth camera. For selfies, the punch-hole on the screen houses a 16MP front camera. Powering the device is a huge 5,020mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging via USB-C.

Before you place your order, it is stated in the global store’s FAQ that customers will have to bear all import taxes and duties if required by customs authorities. If necessary, you may authorise Shopee or the merchant to be the designated carrier to act as your agent to clear, process and remit the import fees for the item. For those who don’t want to go through the hassle, it is still advisable to get it from the official Malaysian store on both Lazada or Shopee.
