The latest Oppo Reno 3 series has finally arrived in Malaysia. They have announced not one but two models – the Reno 3 and the Reno 3 Pro. Instead of the shark-fin pop-up camera, the latest Reno series uses a combination of punch-hole and a notch design for its 2020 lineup.

Pricing and availability

Below is the official price for the Oppo Reno 3 and Reno 3 Pro in Malaysia:

Oppo Reno 3 8GB RAM + 128GB storage – RM1,699
Oppo Reno 3 Pro 8GB RAM + 256GB storage – RM2,399

The devices will be available through all authorised retail channels including the official store on Lazada, Shopee and the official Oppo online store.

On top of that, Oppo Malaysia is offering the Enco W31 wireless headphones worth RM259 for free.

Oppo Reno 3

The Oppo Reno 3 comes with a 6.4″ Full HD+ AMOLED display that comes with a tiny notch and an in-display fingerprint sensor. Under the hood, it runs on a MediaTek Helio P90 processor with 8GB of RAM. Onboard, it has 128GB of storage which is expandable via microSD card.

For taking pictures, the rear gets a quad-camera setup that consists of a 48MP f/1.8 main camera and a 13MP f/2.4 telephoto camera that can do 5x hybrid zoom and up to 20x digital zoom. There’s also an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle lens and a 2MP f/2.4 mono lens for portrait effects. For selfie, the device comes with a single 44MP f/2.4 main camera that supports Ultra Night Selfie mode.

The device comes with a 4,025mAh battery and it supports VOOC Flash Charge 3.0. According to Oppo, you can 50% charge in 30 minutes, while a full charge to 100% takes 73 minutes. For more info, you can check out the Reno 3 product page.

Oppo Reno 3 Pro

Meanwhile, Reno 3 Pro also comes with a 6.4″ Full HD+ AMOLED display but it gets a wide punch-hole on the top left corner. It runs on a MediaTek Helio P95 processor with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage, which is expandable via microSD card.

As expected for a Pro model, the device gets a better quad-camera setup compared to the standard Reno 3. It has a 64MP f/1.8 main camera, 13MP f/2.4 telephoto lens, an 8MP f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2MP shooter for portrait effects. The device can produce a high-resolution 108MP image and it’s also capable of doing 5x hybrid zoom and up to 20x digital zoom.

For selfies, it also gets a 44MP main front camera and an additional 2MP camera for depth of field effects. With this dual-selfie-camera setup, Oppo says you can get a binocular bokeh effect with sharper edges. Also included is an Ultra Night Selfie Mode for better portraits in low light conditions.

Similar to the standard model, it still gets a 4,025mAh battery. However, it supports a newer 30W VOOC 4.0 fast-charging via USB-C. The 30W charging brick is rated to provide a full charge under 60 minutes. Out of the box, it runs on ColorOS 7 that’s based on Android 10.
