Xiaomi is having a global live stream event tomorrow where it will unveil its new member of the Redmi Note 9 series. Ahead of the launch event, the Chinese smartphone maker has confirmed that the new devices are the Redmi Note 9 Pro and the Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite.
Redmi Note 9 Pro
When the Redmi Note 9S was launched in Malaysia, there were those that were disappointed that it isn’t the same model as the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max that was launched in India. For the global market outside of India, it appears that the higher-spec device will be introduced tomorrow as the Redmi Note 9 Pro.
The device has been confirmed by a tweet by Xiaomi’s President for International, Shou Zi Chew. It appears to be a sample macro shot that carries a Redmi Note 9 Pro AI Quad Camera watermark.
Xiaomi Product Marketing Manager, Daniel D, had also hinted that the next devices would be the Redmi Note 9 and Redmi Note 9 Pro like its predecessors. He acknowledged that some users find that the Redmi Note 9S wasn’t enough and there’s something new for you coming soon.
Interestingly, he said that the new devices will come in “3 and a half” new colours. We expect the same Grey, Green and White options like the 9S and probably a new dual-tone version. Lastly, he also mentioned that the device will support 30W fast charging,
As a comparison, the Note 9 Pro Max model in India comes with 33W fast charging brick and it features a higher resolution 64MP main camera. It is highly likely that the new Note 9 Pro would be based on the same model. If the 6.67″ screen is too big, Daniel says that they have taken note of that which is an indication that a smaller Redmi Note 9 will be introduced.
Mi Note 10 Lite
As spotted by XDA Developers and leaked by Roland Quandt, Xiaomi is also announcing a cheaper Mi Note 10 model that’s called the Mi Note 10 Lite. It appears that the device will feature a 6.47″ Full HD+ curved OLED screen and it runs on the same Snapdragon 730G as the standard Mi Note 10.
It is speculated to come with a penta-camera setup consisting of a 64MP + 8MP + 8MP + 5MP + 2MP array. However, from the teaser pic above, only four cameras are visible for the Mi Note 10 Lite. Although it is a light model, the device is expected to come with a large 5,260mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging.
