Another Redmi Note 9 device is coming to Malaysia, could this be the Pro model?

Xiaomi Malaysia has revealed that a new Redmi Note 9 series device is coming to our shores very soon. The new mid-range device will be revealed next week through a live stream event.

As teased on their official Facebook page, the launch is going to be streamed live on the 30th of April at 8pm Malaysian time. It isn’t clear if Xiaomi is unveiling the Pro Max version that was launched in India last month.

This looks like a global event and Malaysia is likely to be among the first country to get it. The same teaser was also retweeted by Xiaomi Co-Founder and CEO, Lei Jun.

There’s a possibility that two new Redmi Note 9 devices will be announced next week. According to serial leakster Roland Quandt, the upcoming devices for Europe are the Redmi Note 9 Pro with 6GB RAM + 128GB storage and the Redmi Note 9 with 3GB RAM + 64GB storage.

Interestingly, there’s also a Mi Note 10 Lite that comes with 6GB RAM + 128GB storage for the European market.

Our guess is that the Pro model is an upgraded version of the current Note 9S that comes with a higher resolution 64MP main camera with support for 33W fast charging. The Redmi Note 9S is currently priced at RM799 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage version and RM899 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage option.
