Malaysia appears to be making good progress as the Ministry of Health has reported yet another drop in daily new COVID-19 cases. At the moment, there are 54 new cases which brings the total number of confirmed cases in Malaysia to 5,305.
Unfortunately, there are two deaths reported today which brings the total COVID-19 fatalities to 88. Today also recorded 135 more recoveries and there are now 3,102 cases that have recovered and discharged.
The current COVID-19 recovery rate in Malaysia is 58.5% while the mortality rate is 1.66%. There are currently 2,115 cases that are still receiving treatment with 49 cases in ICU. 26 cases currently require respiratory support.
Today marks the 3rd day with less than 100 new daily cases this week. The number of daily recoveries has exceeded new cases for 6 consecutive days. At the moment, Malaysia no longer has the highest number of COVID-19 cases in Southeast Asia.
Indonesia currently has 6,248 infections, while the Philippines has 6,087. In Singapore, the island republic now has 5,992 cases as they have recorded their highest daily jump with 942 new cases today.
