A first look at the Find X2 Lite, Oppo’s upcoming 5G mid-range phone

For awhile now, new phones in Oppo‘s Find X2 family have been rumoured to be in the works. Now, serial leakster Roland Quandt has shared a series of “official” photos and specs on WinFuture, saying that the Oppo Find X2 Lite will hit European markets “soon”.

At first glance, it already looks like the Find X2 Lite will have a lot in common with another of Oppo’s mid-range smartphones, the Oppo Reno 3 Youth edition. This means that we’ll see the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 powering the device, along with 5G support in the form of the Snapdragon X52 modem.

On the display side of things, the leak also states that the Find X2 Lite will feature a 6.4″ AMOLED panel which pushes a Full HD+ resolution of 2340 x 1080—along with a dew drop notch which houses a 32MP selfie shooter. On the rear of the device, it looks like a quadruple camera setup: a 48Mp wide shooter, an 8MP ultra-wide angle camera, a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro lens—and identical setup to the Reno 3 Youth.

Quandt says that this should offer a decent performance in low light, while the rear camera setup should also be able to shoot 4K in 30fps. However, there won’t be OIS on any of the cameras, which might dampen expectations for videos slightly.

As for internals, the report says that the Find X2 Lite will be sustained by a 4,025mAh battery that can be charged via USB-C at 30W, probably with Oppo’s proprietary VOOC 4.0 charging standard. However, in line with the mid-range branding of the device, wireless charging isn’t available here.

The flip-side of that? There’s a 3.5mm headphone jack—something that you don’t see on too many flagships in 2020.

Oppo has also retained the impressive 8GB of RAM from the Reno 3 Youth on the X2 Lite, with a single storage option of 128GB. Depending on your preferences, you’ll also be pleased to know that there will be an in-display fingerprint scanner on the X2 Lite, although you can always opt to use facial recognition thanks to the notch (not really practical for pop-up camera phones).

As expected, the smartphone will be running on Android 10, with Oppo’s ColorOS 7.0 UI layered on. While certain reports indicate that the the Find X2 Lite will be rebadged as the OnePlus 8 Lite in the future, previously leaked details seem to contradict that notion.

It looks like the Find X2 Lite renders could refer to Europe spec variants of the device, with only a single NanoSIM card slot available (no expandable storage). Quandt predicts that the mid-ranger will be available in European markets “soon”, at a starting price of EUR499.99 (~RM2,359); black and white colour options will be available, although the “white” referred to by Quandt looks a lot more like a rainbow-themed colour than just plain white.

At the moment, we don’t have any confirmation if the Find X2 Lite will be available in Malaysia anytime soon. As always, keep SoyaCincau.com bookmarked on your browser to keep your eye out an any updates.
