Candy Crush is removing its most annoying feature for free!

Mobile developer King, who’s given us multiple variations of the Candy Crush brand, including Candy Crush Saga, is giving away unlimited lives for free to seven of their games, but only for a week.

Arguably the most popular of the game empire, Candy Crush Saga is a free-to-play puzzle video game where players complete levels by swapping coloured candy on a game board to make a match of three or more of the same colour.

And like many other free-to-play games, they tend to also come with their own way to make players so frustrated that they’d have to pay for an extra helping hand to win a game. For Candy Crush Saga, it’s the added lives that make or break a level.

The free, unlimited lives will be given out only until April 5th, as part of a campaign by World Health Organisation with the games industry to promote awareness of safety and social distancing guidelines during the coronavirus pandemic.

Just a handful of the many games produced by King.

Here are the seven games that are being updated with free lives:

  • Candy Crush Saga
  • Candy Crush Soda Saga
  • Candy Crush Jelly Saga
  • Candy Crush Friends Saga
  • Farm Heroes Saga
  • Bubble Witch 3 Saga
  • Pet Rescue Saga

Seeing as that the World Health Organisation is finally encouraging us to play more video games during the COVID-19 pandemic, we could all use some more support from other gaming companies.

Make sure to take advantage of this week until the 5th April if you’re a player of Candy Crush Saga, or if you’re new to all this and want to give it a try.
