Tune Talk offers free 1GB data daily until MCO is lifted

After introducing a 20% top-up extra credit for prepaid reloads, Tune Talk is now offering free 1GB data daily inline with the Prime Minister’s call to provide free data to help Malaysians stay connected. The free data offer is available starting 1st April until the Movement Control Order is lifted.

Similar to the other big telcos, the free data from Tune Talk is available daily from 8am to 6pm. This is offered to all Tune Talk and Partner subscribers and it covers new and existing Malaysian and non-Malaysian users.

To enjoy this offer, you must ensure that your line is active and you can still continue to enjoy the 20% extra credit offer when you reload. To redeem the daily 1GB data, all you’ll need to do is to perform a one-time SMS opt-in by sending a text STAYHOME by SMS to 2222. You can send the SMS request starting from 00:01 on 1st April 2020.

You’ll receive a confirmation SMS to acknowledge that your opt-in is successful and 1GB will be allocated every single day throughout the MCO period. According to the FAQ, you won’t need to have an existing data plan to be eligible to receive the free data. However, do note that unused data from the daily 1GB quota will be forfeited at 6pm daily.

Users can check the data balance by sending an SMS with the message STATUS to 2222. Alternatively, you can also check via the Tune Talk app under the label “Stay Home Bonus”.
