MCO: U Mobile offers Free 1GB high-speed data daily. Here’s how to get it

In line with the Prime Minister’s recent announcement, U Mobile will be offering all of its customers free daily 1GB of high-speed data throughout the Movement Control Order (MCO) period starting next Wednesday.

According to the orange telco, this free daily data is applicable to its postpaid, prepaid and broadband customers, except for users on the WeChat go SIM plan. The 1GB data will be available to use from 8am to 6pm daily, from 1st April until the MCO is lifted.

The 1GB data will be refreshed daily and it comes with no speed cap. You are also allowed to use the data for hotspot usage. Your line must be active in order to be eligible to receive the free data. Once you’ve finished your free 1GB data, your usage will utilise your existing data quota.

To enjoy this offer you would need to perform a one-time opt-in redemption. Only one redemption is allowed per customer. Below is how you can opt-in via the UMB menu:

Prepaid: Dial *118*6# and select Special Offer
Postpaid: Dial *118*7# and select Special Offer

The free 1GB data is offered on top of its existing 2X Hotspot data offer which started on 19th March 2020. The promotion provides up to 100GB of hotspot data depending on the plan you’re on.

In case you missed it, you can also check out all the free offers from Malaysian telcos during the MCO period.
