Lazada Malaysia to offer Redmi Note 9s for less than RM700?

Xiaomi Malaysia will be introducing the Redmi Note 9s next week and you can order the device at a special price during Lazada’s 8th birthday sale on the 27th of March 2020. Ahead of the official announcement, it appears that Lazada might have accidentally revealed the promo price for the new mid-range smartphone.

Yesterday, we spotted the Redmi Note 9s listing on Lazada which carries a placeholder price of RM1,999. Today, we spotted the “sale price” of RM699 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage model which will be available next Friday. It appears that this promo price is only available for the white version. At the time of posting, Lazada has already removed the indicated sale price.

If the base model is indeed priced at RM699 for 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, it is actually RM100 cheaper than the current Redmi Note 8 4GB RAM + 64GB version during the time of launch. All shall be revealed next Monday and we expect Xiaomi to offer different RAM and storage options for the Redmi Note 9s.

The biggest question is, what specs will it carry? In India, there are two models with different naming – the Redmi Note 9 Pro and the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. Both offer the same 6.67″ display, Snapdragon 720G processor and 5,020mAh battery, but the devices feature a different main camera and fast charging capabilities.

The Redmi Note 9s Malaysia launch is taking place on Monday, 23 March at 8:00pm. You can catch the live stream via Xiaomi Malaysia’s Facebook page.
